Chulalongkorn University
Chulalongkorn University is the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand. Founded in 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), the university was named as a tribute to the king's royal father, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Over a period of time, Chulalongkorn University, or Chula for short, has grown to become a full-fledged university. Today, Chula has eighteen faculties, a graduate school, eleven research institutes, three teaching institutes, and four affiliated institutions with more than 2,800 faculty members.
The Chulalongkorn University campus covers 500 acres in the heart of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The campus is within reach of the major business and financial district, as well as various other facilities.
The Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy
The Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy was established in 1938. The faculty now contains five academic departments: Accountancy, Commerce, Statistics, Banking and Finance, and Marketing, which offer fifteen different majors at various levels.
Currently, there are approximately 2,300 undergraduate students and 1,200 graduate students enrolled. The faculty has a total of 135 full-time faculty members. Furthermore, both the university and the faculty have excellent relationships with universities all over the world. The Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy is also recognized as having one of the best programs in the country. The undergraduate programs are among the most competitively sought out during the National University Entrance Examination.Alumni from the undergraduate and graduate programs have assumed significant roles in both the private and public sectors.
The Bachelor of Business Administration or International BBA Program was established to show our commitment to Thailand, the Asia-Pacific region and the global community. The International BBA Program is the first undergraduate level program that is taught entirely in English at Chulalongkorn University.The International BBA Program is designed to produce graduates in specific areas of concentration. The International Business Management major focuses on understanding the development trade and the diversity of culture. The program will also emphasize on how to manage effectively and competitively in these environments. The Accounting major will provide students with extensive knowledge of the international accounting practices for modern business management. Students will have ample opportunities to interact with students from other nations and select an internship with multinational firms or organizations. The students may choose to fulfill the required courses by spending a period of time abroad as exchange students, or by selecting a study tour arranged by the Program. A minimum of 145 credit hours is required to be undertaken for the International BBA Program.
The International BBA Program has three primary objectives
To provide students with an in-depth knowledge of international business concepts
To provide students with a solid foundation for both theoretical and practical development to meet the various needs of multinational businesses
To prepare students for the responsibilities and opportunities of careers with international corporations
